Let's Plant a Better Santa Ana, Together
To rewild is to restore vital parts of our natural systems so that they can once again fulfill their role in our ecosystem. Native plants play a key role in supporting our insects and caterpillars, which in turn feed our birds and pollinate our crops.
Santa Ana was once a thriving and diverse region, containing Coastal Sage Scrub, Chaparral, Oak Woodlands, and Riparian habitats. Most of these habitats were lost to agriculture and development. We can't bring back these habitats exactly as they were, but rewilding can help restore the systems we rely on.
